LEGO®-Based Therapy Workshops
LEGO®-Based Therapy aims to develop language and social skills in children on the autistic spectrum through facilitated group play. The intervention has become increasingly popular over recent years, particularly in schools and community settings. Published research has shown improvements in social skills and social competence following participation in group sessions.
Dr Elinor Brett, Educational Psychologist, will be running workshops on the theory and principles behind LEGO®-based therapy and its practical application in schools. Dr Brett has 6 years’ experience setting up LEGO®-based therapy groups and has conducted doctoral level research into the impact of the intervention. Workshops will provide opportunities to experience LEGO®-based therapy from a hands-on, practical perspective.
Workshops will be running on Friday and Saturday at: 11.00, 12.00, 13.00, 14.00 and 15.00.
